Got a little bit of extra metal hanging around your garage, house, or business? Consider donating to the Laramie County Library Foundation! Even the smallest piece of metal can help your community and our planet.
Your scrap metal donations will benefit the library foundation, which raises money to support enhanced programming, new technologies and special needs for the library.
When: May 21 – June 7
Perfectly timed for Memorial Day weekend and spring cleaning! Between Thursday, May 21 through Sunday, June 7, we’ll accept any of the below items for donation.
Where: 2200 Pioneer Avenue, Parking Lot
If you have any aluminum, copper, brass, lead, or zinc items you’d like to donate, place them in the donation dumpster located on the west side of the Library parking lot.
What: Used or New Metals
We’ll gladly accept the following items:

|Air conditioning compressors||Motor blocks|
|Aluminum, including cans, rims, siding and sheet||Plumbing parts|
|Cable and wire||Rebar|
|Cast iron||Red brass (Ebony)|
|Chain link fencing||Sheet metal|
|Copper||Shredded scrap (Zorba)|
|Drums, barrels, and other containers||Stainless steel|
|Electrical parts and wiring||Tin|
|Gas cylinders and tanks||Turnings|
|Heavy melt steel||Wheel weights (Ropes)|
|Industrial metals||Yellow brass (Honey)|
|Irony aluminum, including lawn furniture||Farm & ranch equipment|
We cannot accept the following materials:
|Closed containers such as enclosed drums or tanks||Paint cans|
|Hazardous waste or chemicals||Radioactive materials|
|Flammable materials – ammunition or explosives||Tires, wood, dirt, yard debris, concrete|
|Fluids including oils, gasoline, hydraulic fluid, gear oil or grease||Asphalt, class, rubber, or other non-metal materials|
