The Laramie County Library Foundation exists to raise,
administer and disburse funds, grants, bequests, gifts & corporate
donations to enhance Laramie County’s libraries above and beyond what
tax dollars can do.
The foundation seeks to expand the Laramie County Library System’s ability
to serve all the people of Laramie County in an equal manner.
The members of the foundation Board of Directors hope to help create
dynamic community centers where young and old alike can gather to learn,
read and connect with each other and the world around them.
The Foundation hopes to strengthen and expand the library system’s ability
to share the world’s rich informational resources through advanced technologies
while preserving the irreplaceable value of books.
"Libraries are important to foster a positive family reading environment.
I want my children to have the accessibility and exposure to enjoy reading
books as much as I do."
David Cook
President of the Laramie County Library Foundation
The Foundation Board of Directors
work to enhance and enrich the decisions concerning the library programs,
services and needs as determined by the LCL System Board of Directors
and the County Librarian and staff.
The Foundation board consists of no less than 5 and no more than 21
members.
Each board member is expected to have a relationship with the library
and have enthusiasm for literacy; to attend monthly meetings; contribute
time to the library and the community; and to make an annual contribution
to the library foundation.
Board member elections are held every September when there are openings.
Terms are for three years, and each member may be elected to serve two
consecutive terms for a total of six years. Terms begin on the date
of the annual meeting in September.
Monthly board meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at
4:00 p.m. in the Library County Library.
