Reading skills begin at birth. You can help your child learn
important skills now, so they can become good readers.By sharing
books and reading with your child every day, whatever their age,
you can give them a vital head start.
The American Library Association has very usefull resources for parents on early literacy. While they are updating their Every Child Ready to Read website, here are some tips for librarians from ALA to help you bring early literacy skills into your child's daily environment.
