New Information Alters List of Potential Library Locations
CHEYENNE - One of the sites considered by the Laramie County Library System as a location for a new or improved Laramie County Library facility has been removed from the short list of potential sites.
After obtaining additional information regarding the area that currently houses the Laramie County School District No. 1 administrative offices, the library has learned that the site is not available.
However, following discussions with school district officials, the library discovered that unused district property north of Dell Range and east of Powderhouse may be available for consideration.
The LCLS Board of Directors is submitting this site to the Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) for its evaluation. The committee will utilize the same criteria that they used when evaluating the original list of 57 sites.
The FAC has been asked to have a recommendation to the board in time for its regular monthly meeting on Oct. 23.
If the FAC does not consider this site a viable option, then only three sites will remain on the short list: (a) the present location or a variation thereof, (b) land on the Veterans Administration property, and (c) the vicinity of the city building.
Laramie County citizens are encouraged, as they have been throughout this entire process, to offer suggestions and comments to any member of the FAC or the LCLS Board of Directors by calling 635-1032, ext. 121.
