County Commissioners Approve Resolution for Library Projects
Cheyenne, Wyo. - At yesterday's meeting of the county commissioners, the Laramie County Library System received unanimous approval of the resolution seeking 6th-penny funds on the November 2002 specific purpose tax ballot.
In May, the LCLS Board of Directors proposed that a new Laramie County Library could be built in phases to appease those with concerns about the initial cost of the project.
The commissioners asked the board to return to this meeting with additional information. Following re-evaluation of the proposal, which included meeting with the architectural team and the library building consultant, the board agreed that, by proposing a phased project, it would be shirking both a fiduciary responsibility and a responsibility to the communities involved.
