Library's Architectual Team Holds Public Workshops in January

CHEYENNE - Anderson Mason Dale Architects/Tobin and Associates (AMD/Tobin), the architectural team selected to design the new or improved Laramie County Library building, will hold public workshops to discuss the three possible library sites and the building process, as well as obtain feedback from the community.

Both workshops will take place in Storey Gymnasium's board room, found in the northwest corner of that building. Storey Gym is located on the corner of Pershing and Evans.

The first session will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15. During this session, AMD/Tobin will introduce the next steps in the site evaluation/design process and will explore the culture, community, and the larger picture of this project and its effect on Laramie County.

At 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, the second workshop will be held, and the architectural team will focus on site evaluation.

The public is welcome to attend these workshops to obtain more information about the Laramie County Library building project and to offer opinions, comments, and questions to the architectural team.

Participants are strongly encouraged to contribute to a community collage, by bringing such items as photographs, quotes, and other materials that individuals feel are pertinent to them in relation to the library and Laramie County. The architectural team will create a collage that displays these various aspects of the community. Items used in the collage cannot be returned.

Three sites remain under consideration for a new or improved Laramie County Library facility: (a) the present location or a variation thereof, (b) land on the Veterans Administration property, and (c) the vicinity of the city building.

The architectural team is using these workshops to help LCLS achieve its goal of reducing this short list of sites to one location.
