Here’s a sampling of some of the comments we received from
the community during our First Anniversary Celebration in September:
| From Donatellia |
| "The first day it opened - the ribbon cutting
and the talks first where amazing. And the crowds as they waited
for it. It was an incredible feeling all around! And when I went
into it; with the gallery showing the top floor with the glass
"bridge" to the teen section was just fantastic. I also
like the moon-chairs in the teen section. That was a very wondrous
day." |

| "I love the new library - the children's
floor is outstanding. All of the facilities are awesome. We truly
enjoy spending time there. My only suggestion would be to increase
the selection of "Chick Lit" in the adult fiction section.
There is a very limited number of books by authors such as Kinsella,
Wickham, etc." |

| "My son and I use the library at least
2-3 times a week!! We love it!! It is awesome!! He is very much
into history. He loves books on the Civil War, The Revolution,
World Wars 1&2, Airplanes, Egypt, France, Ireland, Germany
and Scooby Doo & SpongeBob!! You guys are awesome, your staff
is awesome and I love the fact that my son is so well rounded
and enjoys reading because you have the books he loves to read!!
He even read to the Therapy dogs over the summer!! Keep up the
great work and we will continue coming back often!! " |

| "I love everything about the new library!
My kids absolutely love the children's floor. It is by far the
best library we have ever been to! The staff is super friendly
and very helpful." |

| "I love the new library, especially the
2nd floor. But there is something you seem to have forgotten.
It would be both nice and convenient if there were small shelves
next to the urinals, in the stalls and by the sinks of the restroom.
For those of us with limited use of both arms we end up either
putting library materials on the floor (it may be clean but it's
still gross) or on the wet sink where they have the potential
to be stolen or damaged. Thank you." |

| "The kids’ area is wonderful! The
space is very open and user friendly. Congrats on library of the
year." |
| From Mike |
| "Wonderful! Excellent! Outstanding! I had
a great time during the book fair and relished the opportunity
to sit in on writing classes. I utilize the library a lot for
its audio books which there is a fairly good selection, but could
use more. Mostly, I come to use the computers. The new computer
room is large, spacious and I've never had to wait for a computer...however,
I do wish there were stricter policies on the use of cell phones
in the library and computer room. From when I was in first grade,
there was always a librarian around to "shush" me (and
others) when I was either talking too loud or acting inappropriately.
I would like to see this library remind people to make sure cell
phones were either turned off or silenced. And when a cell phone
does ring, a library staff member would approach the person (without
hesitation) and ask them to turn off the ringer and go outside
or in a study room to talk to the caller. I only mention this
because it is a common occurrence. Every single time I'm here
I have to listen to someone’s cell phone ringing. I know
it's not the library's responsibility to teach people cell phone
etiquette, but it would be nice to see some enforcement on their
use in the library.Other than that, my experience here has been
top notch!" |

| "What do I like best about the Library?
EVERYTHING!! This library has everything and they make it easy
to utilize it. From checking out/in books, putting books on hold
and looking items up! I can even feel good by donating books I
know longer need and buying used books/movies, etc to support
the library. This library is a win-win situation! Oh yes, if help
is needed, the staff is right there with the answer - pleasant,
willing and very knowledgeable." |

| "While I enjoy the library and find many
things to read, I feel it is lacking in the hobby section, such
as modern boat model building. All that can be found are model
boats from ancient times or sailing ships. I realize we live in
the boondocks where a lot of people are into hunting and fishing,
but there are a few of us retired folks that like to work on hobbies,
such as model boat building. There isn't even a good hobby shop
in town anymore." |

| "It’s a very good library and my
grand kids really like it also. Great job." |

| "I just recently started using the library
and was unsure how to find any info on an extensive personal research
project I started a few months ago. I first ask some questions
from the person just inside the door and received encouraging
answers. I then made a stop at one of your computers to see what
was available in the library. The system was very user friendly
and I was able to get a very good start on my research. I found
some books very quickly. After selecting two I asked and received
instructions on how to check them out. It was all very easy, and
now I'm online renewing these same books that are so very interesting
that I still need more time with them. If I didn't need to work,
I would be at the library even more to continue collecting information
for my project. I'll be back! Again and again. Cheyenne needed
a place like this. In this library there are quite areas to work
in without feeling like you are in a crowded room." |

| From Linda |
| "It is an excellent library better than
the old library. I really like it with all the available services
offered and I think it is an important asset to the community
of Cheyenne." |
| |
| From Lesley |
| "I love the enthusiasm Cheyenne’s
library has always approached the children’s story time.
My children adore books." |

| "I LOVE THE NEW LIBRARY! It is easy to
use and the children’s area is wonderful! " |

| From Sandra |
| "I really like the idea that I can drop
my kids off for different events and get some time to myself.
(Very rare for single mothers.) My kids love the teen area!" |

| "Just to say the new library is wonderful
is not good enough. But somehow words fail me now to try to say
how “wonderful" it is. The building is perfect for
what it was built for. Clean, beautiful and functional. The staff
is always friendly and helpful. I just love it." |

| "I am so proud of all of the staff and
we have used the library over 30 years. The services are limitless
and so much for children, our future. I brought a librarian friend
from Arvada to see our library in August and she was totally in
awe and was allowed to take pictures. This thrilled me to have
her in awe. Absolutely love the renewal on line. And your faith
that I will actually pay my fines when I am in. And your help
with the check-out machines. Dick absolutely loves those. Thanks
for sticking in there to get the library. I certainly voted for
it. Lucy and Carrie are the best as is everyone. I hope to have
my son and Dick or myself volunteer this winter. Thank you for
all your hard work." |

| From Ingrid |
| "My son (8 yrs. old) and I love the library.
We go there at least twice a month, sometimes more than that to
check out materials. Everything is so bright and full of light
and the people are very friendly and helpful." |

| From Debbie |
| "The library has become a second home to
us. We are there all the time. It is the perfect place for four
kids and a tired mom to spend a windy Cheyenne afternoon. Thank
you for creating such a beautiful and warm atmosphere. Special
kudos to the librarians on the second floor who are always so
positive and willing to help!" |

| "I really like the way it's arranged. I
went in there for the first time last month. I will be joining
the computer classes for a refresher course. Thank you." |
